Al-Zawahri’s Statement On Bush, The Pope And Darfor

Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Al-Qaeda’s No. 2 has not only called US President George W. Bush a liar who had "failed in his war against Al-Qaeda" but he has made known Al-Qaeda’s views on the Pope’s slander of Islam, the barbaric treatment of Muslim prisoners as well as issuing a call to jihad in Darfor.

His direct attack on George Bush is sure to have the US president’s blood boiling as Bush continues to loose ground after having failed to shut down Al-Qaeda’s leadership or apprehend Shaykh Osama bin Laden “dead or alive” as promised a long five years ago. With the war in Iraq in a shambles, the Taliban on the march, the US deficit out of control that will surely cripple the country in years to come and declining popularity even among his most loyal supporters, Dr. Zawahri’s address is sure to have a ripple effect for Bush and his handlers.

Dr.Ayman Al-Zawahiri on Bush:

• "Why don't you tell them how many million citizens of America and its allies you intend to kill in search of the imaginary victory and in breathless pursuit of the mirage towards which you are driving your people's sons in order increase your profits?"

• "Bush you are a lying failure and a charlatan. It has been three and a half years... What happened to us? We have gained more strength and we are more insistent on martyrdom."

• “Can't you be honest at least once in your life, and admit that you are a deceitful liar who intentionally deceived your nation when you drove them to war in Iraq. Bush, O failure and liar, why don't you be courageous for once and confront your people and tell them the truth about your losses in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Osama Bin Laden's Deputy On Human Rights:

• “Your agents in the Arabian Peninsula, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan have captured thousands of the youth and soldiers of Islam whom you made to taste at your hands and the hands of your agents various types of punishment and torture."

• "What you have perpetrated against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other Muslim captives in your prisons and the prisons of your slaves in Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan and elsewhere is not hidden from anyone, and we are a people who do not sleep under oppression and who do not abandon our revenge until our chests have been healed of those who have committed aggression against us."


On The Pope:

• “This charlatan Benedict brings back to our memories the speech of his predecessor charlatan Urban II in the 11th century ... in which he instigated Europeans to fight Muslims and launch the Crusades because he (Urban) claimed 'atheist Muslims, the enemies of Christ' are attacking the tomb of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him."

• "This charlatan accused Islam of being incompatible with rationality while forgetting that his own Christianity is unacceptable to a sensible mind."

• "If Benedict attacked us, we will respond to his insults with good things. We will call upon him and all of the Christians to become Muslims who do not recognize the Trinity or the crucifixion."


Darfur: A Call to Jihad

Dr. Al-Zawahiri also urged Muslims to jihad against foreigners including UN troops in Sudan's Darfur region:

• "O Muslim Ummah, come to defend your lands from Crusaders masked as United Nations [troops]. Nothing will protect you except popular jihad."

• “There is a Crusader plan to send Crusaders forces to Darfur that is about to become a new field of the Crusades war. Oh, nation of Islam, rise up to defend your land from the Crusaders aggression who are coming wearing United Nations masks."
