In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

He was the courageous, the brave and the destructive hero, intrepid and bold from the Land of the Two Holy Places (Arabian Peninsula). Allah knows that I am not qualified to write about this lofty mountain, so ask the mountains of the “Hindu Kush’ in Afghanistan, the villages of Chechnya and the valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates to know who this man was.

Saif al-Ummah, (Sword of the Nation) the well-known lion, especially to the Mujahideen veterans, they knew him as being ahead of them in ranks, invasive, grappling with the horrors of death and driven by the decline in heroes. He would laugh when men are alarmed and startled, prancing on Allah’s enemies when their feet were entangled on one another in panic. The abundance of enemies, according to him, bestows on them a weakness and he saw them as insignificant as flies, their buildings weaker than a spider’ web. Whenever people panicked, they found him before them, the whole world saw him in a video called “Russian Hell” and he was holding two BKC weapons that he used to use together in a simultaneous fire; it will remain stuck in the memory as long as the Jihad carries on.

He would say to us here in the Land of the Two Rivers, inciting us: “What’s the matter with you? I swear by Allah, we were attacking in Chechnya a complete camp of the enemy with thirty Mujahideen, destroying what we wanted of their armored vehicles; we killed and we captivated, then we carried our injured and withdrew!” He once told me “Give me fifty to one hundred Mujahideen and I’ll get the prisoners out of Abu Ghraib for you. I swear by Allah they are cowards! Do you think that they fight and resist?”

And apart from being courageous, he was a dear soul, and modest to a great extent. He came with his Chechen wife and children from one of the Arab states, and could not return to his country simply because he was wanted and well-known.

And because he thought that he was being watched and known, he did not contact any one of his brothers. He ran out of the money and it was said about him that his children went to sleep crying from hunger. But he was a most noble son and despite this he did not request money from anyone. Rather, he was forever showing those that he met, that he was in a good condition. I think he was one of those about whom Allah has said: ”The one who knows them not, thinks that they are rich because of their modesty. You may know them by their mark, they do not beg of people at all, ” (al-Qur’an 2:273). He remained on this condition until Allah granted him without self-anticipation.

Imam Ahmad was asked: “If one cannot find anything to eat, should he ask the people? He said, “No”.
They said: “If he is dying of hunger?” He said, “No, Allah will provide for him.”

The martyr traveled with his wife and his children and remained waiting for the opportunity to go to Iraq so that he carried out the duty of support and defending the religion with Honor, and when his time became due, he was surprised with the displeasing size that the martyrdom operations caused. He said: “SubhanAllah! Every operation is an expedition in itself, the best of what benefits and “dazes” the enemy is here; the martyrdom operations, their sound deafens the ears, no force can avoid their fragments, and the whole world hears the news of them”.

He was always citing a saying ”Rabin”, Allah’s curse be on him, when speaking about the martyrdom operations in Palestine where he said, “You can not prevent a man that wants to die”. One of the brothers told me that he once said to him while sitting with him: “You are an expert and an experienced man come on and form a group and carry out such and such. He said, “I have decided on a matter that I will not deviate from”. It was then that the idea of a martyrdom operation had filled his life.

All that is left to mention is a saying echoed by many and that is: Saiful Ummah taught me the meaning of truthfulness and he really explained to me the meaning of Allah’s saying: “So flee to Allah” (al-Qur’an 51:50). He would see minor carelessnesses in religion as if a mountain was about to fold on him, and take his religion and life from him that was proved by Ibn Masoud’s saying, may Allah  be pleased with him: “When a believer sins, it’s as if he is under a rock, he fears it will fall and kill him, so the man flees to Allah and says: Nothing will purify me except martyrdom in the path of Allah, and hope you do not prohibit me and hasten for me the desire to meet my Lord.”

Some of life’s desires held him back, but then he escaped to Allah by the utmost force he possessed and his tongue uttered: “Oh Allah accept me, do not reject me and do not leave my wish  prohibited by your mercy”.

So his Lord accepted him with good acceptance – we consider it as such - and granted him good provision where he reaped in a single moment, hundreds of soldiers of disbelief and apostasy between dead and injured, and his operation was very blessed. It was one of the operations that have caused the most losses in the ranks of the enemy. He executed a martyrdom attack on the police station of “Alexandria”, south of Baghdad, using a pick-up car carrying almost a ton of C4 explosives, and because the centre was surrounded by a wall of dirt bags, the material was put in a high car, so that if the brother came beside the fence, the entire material was higher than the bags.
In the morning as usual, exactly at eight, the enemies of Allah the apostates and some Americans soldiers gathered, and before the execution of their frenzied attack on the Sunnis, Saif al-Ummah exploded his car so that the enemy acknowledged that 60 people were killed and more than hundred injured. We ask Allah to accept his work from him, and that does not deprive us from His reward. Ameen….

And like Saif’s fear of Allah I said to myself:

O Allah if I erred or forgot: The pardon from you is promised and close
O Allah who possesses the concealment of its own defects
And for you not even a creeping can be hidden
O Allah confessing of one’s previous sin
You are the Most Merciful to only the one who repents
O Allah to whom my matter reins
And death is creeping terribly on me
These trials have exhausted me
Not letting my heart rest and enjoy
A necklace collapsed and scattered
Whenever I stay a hardship stays
O who cures the harm, I threw my burden
On my shoulders then kindness is from you a respondent.
