The innocent killings of Civilians will only encourage hatred and animosity for Western Countries particularly the United States of America. The United Nations has been the last format of resort to discuss the internal problems of independent countries throughout the world. I am asking the world to pay close attention to the US military in Afghanistan. The United States is attacking whomever and whoever they feel without adequate information or proper intelligence. This type of ignorant unprecedented violence is the root of the intense animosity that breeds Islamic Militancy. This particular attack was not the first attack on civilians in Afghanistan nor will it probably be the last.
These are a listing of Afghan civilian casualties that the world has chosen to ignore:
Dec. 21 - U.S. bombs hit a 40-vehicle convoy of Afghan tribal elders on a road in the mountains of the eastern province of Paktia, killing as many as 65, according to some reports. The Pentagon says it received U.S. intelligence that the convoy was carrying al-Qaida members. Afghans say the victims were tribal leaders going to Kabul to pay respects to new leader Hamid Karzai.
Jan. 23 - In a raid on two suspected enemy compounds in Hazar Qadam, U.S. troops kill 16 people and capture 27, none of whom turn out to be al-Qaida or Taliban members. The 27 were later released. Pentagon officials blame the deaths on men in the compound who they say began shooting when American troops attacked.
April 16 - A U.S. pilot mistakenly drops a 500-pound bomb on Canadian forces who were conducting a live-fire nighttime exercise, killing four soldiers and wounding eight. Separate Canadian and American investigations conclude the pilot acted hastily and did not follow proper procedures.
May 31 - U.S. troops kill three of their Afghan allies in a firefight that breaks out when both sides move in separately on a compound mistakenly thought to be a hide-out of Taliban and al-Qaida leaders. Two Afghan anti-Taliban fighters are wounded in the exchange at the walled compound outside the eastern Afghan city of Gardez. |

June 1 - The Afghan government says four villages are attacked around Kakarak, killing 40 civilians - including all 25 members of one family - and injuring 100, including people attending a wedding party. Survivors say U.S. planes attacked the wedding. The U.S. military says American forces came under fire.
There are many injustices going on in Afghanistan that I would like to bring to your attention Mr. Secretary General. These items have plagued Afghanistan whenever Afghanistan has been brought into the world’s limelight. Afghanistan has been plagued over the last 20 years with foreign interference from all of the borders surrounding the country. The interference initially came from Russia, then Pakistan, India, Iran, and now the United States of America. How long must Afghanistan be played a pawn as a capitalistic conquest of other country’s foreign policies?
Afghanistan is a country based on strong moral, cultural and religious ethics not a Terrorist factory, nor a pawn of bordering countries. We are a fiercely independent people and nation who bow to no one except our Creator. The Afghan people have always been faced with adversity. Many empires have entered Afghanistan but none have survived or left without severe injuries. Afghanistan has survived the likes of Ghenghis Khan and his empire, and caused the destruction of Alexander the Great and his forces. We enjoyed the victory over the British Empire, but the Afghan nation had never faced a more devastating criminal entity as it did when it destroyed and survived The Soviet Union. During the illegal attack of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan the Soviet Military offered a constant offering for Afghan people for acceptance of their rule in their homeland. The advertisement went as the following in Pashto one of Afghanistan’s two main native languages:
“ KOR, KAULEEY, HAM DORDEY”
The translation means HOME, CLOTHES, AND FOOD in exchange for complete submission to a new Communist Soviet Russian order. Also the Russians called the Mujahideen freedom-fighters “BASMATCH” a term in the Russian language meaning “Terrorist”, in fact this is the same term they are using against the rebels who are fighting in Chechnya. This same tactic is now being repeated in Afghanistan with the United States military who are spearheaded by the war-mongering Bush Administration. The people of Afghanistan also believe that if the American people had full knowledge of all the operations going on in Afghanistan, that they would not support the tactics used against the Afghan people. We would like to clearly make the distinction that the foreign policy of U.S. President George W. Bush is not in unison with the people of America.
